CMU vs Steel Pan Stair Study

As the project manager for several athletic facility projects, I often found myself in the role of communicating between the Owner, my boss, and the contractor. This series of hand drawn studies examined a steel pan stair detail that interacted with structural steel and cinderblock walls. The drawing served to help the team decide the best option for construction. This drawing was intended to serve as a communication tool between the Owner and my boss in the days before digital sketching of such details was considered practical. A base drawing was sketched, then copied on a standard copier, white-out, ballpoint, sign pen, and felt tip served to produce the options. This type of sketch aligned my practice so that transition to digital modeling for construction came about fairly seamlessly.
