“Akimala Lorielal”

This drawing began in January 1986 as a portrait of a girl I liked (Akimalâ, who would grow into an imago). I added the background, a city in the near future, with a curtainwall building prominent at right. Recent visits to downtown Chicago influence the work, new skyscrapers on the Magnificent Mile and the State of Illinois Building in the Loop inspired some of the towers in the background. The lrixe-language signage lent the image an exotic flair. The scene is intended to represent conditions in the capital city of an interstellar empire in a role playing game I enjoyed with several friends. This picture is one of several that influenced my alma mater to award a large merit scholarship, thus the drawing is part of the means by which I am a registered architect. The effect I’d point out in the scholarship interview is the fluorescent lights barely visible in the curtainwall. Prominent on the tops of some buildings is the “Caryma” logo, my personal logo since 1985. Produced 20 April 1986 = Tayya 3410, 10th grade, three dozen fourth phase (Ralys-Ayuleyal Xrga).
