Jimla Aðitriçe (Abby & Sasha)

Jimla Azitrice Dog Portrait Abby and Sasha

This is a commissioned drawing of the pets of a coworker Aðitriça, dogs named Abby and Sasha. The drawing has a plain white paper substrate, struck from a photograph. The dogs lie on a rather difficult carpet, with the corruscation of sunlight on a wood floor typical to St. Louis. The overexposed sunlight presented a particularly challenging effect. In earlier years I’d have gotten mired in the micro-detail of the carpet but here attempt merely to allude to the pattern, the fringework, with attention focused on the pet and their coats. Aðitriça is the namesake of the jimalmyne aðitriçal, the “aðitriça” drawing style, of which s5231a49 is a good example. Produced 14 December 1997 = Tayya 5978, five dozen ninth phase (Ñixaþ-Ajiñevral Xrga).
