Aðilyrâ

Adilyra

My fiancee Laura Ann Heaton (Aðilyrâ) posed for me at her apartment on Nottingham Avenue, St. Louis. This ballpoint ink sketch attempts to capture her soft-spoken but powerful beauty in the daylight of the apartment. We were dating and she was slaying my soul. Laura is a graphic designer, painter, and often accompanied me to sketch. The drawing was later signed by Bishop Joseph Naumann, at the time of writing the sitting archbishop of Kansas City, Missouri. Father Naumann is a childhood friend of Laura’s, having given her First Communion, often a guest of the Heaton family. Bishop Naumann married Laura and I at 2 October 1999 (Tayya 6225). This sketch caps the development of portraits in this sketchbook, beginning with teenage crushes in the style of another artist, and ending with the woman I love and marry, in my own style. The sketch was done in around a half hour. Produced 14 March 1999, six dozenth phase (Añikça-Vaðanaral Xrga).
