Southern Overlook at Via Trieste

Pencil study of a house south of and outside the city wall of Castiglion Fiorentino, on Via Trieste. A gap in the city wall was available due to World War II bombing that destroyed a house that framed into the wall. The subject is rendered realistically, but the backdrop, a more remote and downhill portion of the outskirts of town, was penciled in for completion later. This sketch was developed into a full stand-alone drawing (jimla). Drawn 1 February 1992 = Tayya 4691, four dozen sixth phase (Safyr-Apacinal Xrga).
