Argam Nomenclature Study

Argam Transdecimal Nomenclature Study

In the summer of 1991 I developed a set of transdecimal numerals that could be used to represent bases larger than ten. In 1992 these were christened argam arimaxa and were revised in 2004 and 2006. This page examines naming conventions for the numerals. At the upper left, names for prime powers are listed. Below this, a chart explores the duodecimal fractions. At left, the argam numerals are written in columns (mod 6) to pan for primes, which are circled. The upper right chart names the smallest superior highly composite numbers, explored again below it three days later. The nomenclature studies bring together ideas that were jotted on scraps and napkins during business travel.
